Many have found group therapy to be helpful in living with the challenges of having a mental illness. Both of the below groups have 3-5 group members and are closed to new members after week 2. Sliding scale payment is available on a limited basis.
College Undergrad Support Group, Spring semester
Weekly support group for college undergrads with an emphasis on living with a mental health condition including Anxiety, Depression, Dual-Diagnosis, and Bi-Polar. Discussion will include a review of coping strategies and tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Self-Compassion. Group meets for 50 minutes on Thursdays at 4pm from February 14th to April 25th (10 sessions). Initial 20 minute phone intake session must take place prior to January 31st.
Social Anxiety Therapy Group
According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, 15 million adults in the U.S. are affected with Social Anxiety Disorder ("SAD"). You are not alone. Connecting with others dealing with similar challenges can be a powerful source for support and change. Included in the discussion will be a review of tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as working through discomfort in a nonjudgmental setting. This small group meets weekly on Thursdays at 5:15pm starting on January 10th. Phone intake session must take place prior to January 4th.
